New Development Model for the Kingdom’s Southern Provinces, This project is fully in line with the Constitution adopted on July 1st, 2011. It is a contribution by civil society groups to the nation-wide project of implementing advanced regionalization, and it can potentially contribute to the success of the autonomy plan for the provinces concerned by the UN process tabled by the Kingdom in 2007. At the heart of this model are the respect for and promotion of basic human rights in the broadest sense, including economic, social, cultural and environmental rights. Through the development of guidelines for an integrated, sustainable development based on the genuine participation of citizens in the management of their own local affairs, the aim of the Center for Strategic Thinking and Defense of Democracy is to contribute to the collective effort required to rise to the challenge of achieving social cohesion, prosperity and equitable benefit from the resources of the Southern Provinces
